This is a 2013 newly minted "American Gold Prospector" one troy ounce solid .999 fine silver medallion. It is the first medallion in a series, all of which will display different gold prospecting scenes. This scene, "The Lone Panner" was designed by Chuck Lassiter, a lifelong gold prospector and writer. These medallions are custom minted exclusively for Midwest Prospector by the SilverTowne Mint in Winchester, Indiana. They are encased in a plastic capsule at the mint and have not been handled, they are in mint condition. Each is dated 2013 on the reverse, with an outstretched eagle, 13 stars and the Midwest Prospector logo, along with "USA." The Obverse features an old time lone gold panner, working in a mountain stream, with his firewood and log cabin in the background, as well as his trusty Winchester at his side. In addition to the gold panning scene, the front has 12 stars, plus the rising sun, which makes number 13. These medallions have a reeded edge, just like the old time silver dollars.
The medallions are absolutely stunning, with a deep mirror proof-like appearance, the pictures do not do them justice. The 2013 "Lone Panner" medallions will have a very limited minting and are sure to be highly collectable! What better way to stack silver and hedge against the inevitable dollar collapse! Supplies are limited, so get them while they last! Price is subject to change.
I will be donating $1 for each medallion sold to the PLP (Public Lands for the People) to help with the legal fees in their ongoing California suction dredging moratorium court cases. So when you purchase a medallion, you will be helping to protect the rights of gold prospectors!
